Game Day Apps that are Reboot Approved!

Updated: Sep 10, 2018

We all love to enjoy some good apps on game day, here are a few options that are not only reboot approved but taste amazing!

Buffalo Dip

What is Reboot?

Rebooting is about making smart but still simple food choices. It consists of cutting out all grains, starchy carbs (sugar producing carbs), processed ingredients and refined sugars. By rebooting you are helping support your body’s normal energy-producing, fat-burning, muscle-building functions. Did you know that your body was designed to burn fat as its primary source of fuel? Isn't that crazy? Whats crazy is a large amount of food in stores today is considered "low fat" or "fat free" which is the exact opposite of what your body needs. Unfortunately, these "low fat" options are rather packed with sugars and additives in order to increase taste and consistency.

These modern food changes, crazy diets and busy lifestyles we have greatly disable our body's ability to function normally and perform in areas such as fat burning. As a result, more and more people are finding themselves struggling with health complications, weight gain and even obesity. All of these health disturbances are a result of malnutrition.

For long-term health, the reboot lifestyle is a simple lifestyle that can reap amazing benefits, improve your overall health and get your body back to burning fat as its primary source of fuel vs. sugar.

In honor of the first game of the season, I decided to whip up a table full of reboot approved apps while we enjoyed the game. All dishes are explained below along with a photo gallery.

Granny Smith Apples

Talk about simple! These apple pieces were quickly created with granny smith apples cut to preferred size, topped with a mixture of dark chocolate (Lily's Dark) and Jiffy chunky peanut butter melted via stove top. The amount is up to you.

Grilled Chicken

We decided instead of cooking the buffalo dip with chicken pieces in it, we would cook the chicken separate and instead of chips we used the chicken pieces to dip. The chicken breast was all natural, cut into pieces and grilled on the stovetop with Extra Virgin Olive Oil (E.V.O.O.) and salt and pepper to taste.

Nachos

Who doesn't love nachos, the crunch of the chip, the cheese and the spice is all a mouth-full of amazingness! For the base I used Siete Chips from Whole Foods. The "meat" of the nachos consists of 1lb ground hamburger, 3 diced mushrooms, 3 slices of bacon broken into pieces, a pinch of garlic, chili powder and red pepper flakes to taste. All cooked on the stovetop in a frying pan. I topped the chips with the mixture, sprinkled cheddar cheese and tossed it all into the oven at 400 degrees until cheese was melted and browned.

Buffalo Dip

Whats a football game without some buffalo dip? This one is pretty simple and does not require that much change for reboot approval. In a crock pot combine 1/2 cup of Reds Buffalo Sauce, 8oz cream cheese, 1/2 cup of greek yogurt (whole fat) and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Cook until all is melted together (this can also be cooked in a pan on the stove) I chose the crock pot so I could focus on other foods without the cheese burning. Once it is all melted, place in an oven safe pan, top with handfuls of cheddar cheese and place in the oven at 400 degrees until the top layer of cheese is melted to perfection!

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

We all know these are pretty self explanatory but it is important what kind of chocolate you use. I use Lily's Dark original chocolate which is very low in sugar. Melt the chocolate and drizzle over the berries or dip. When it comes to fruit, berries and granny smith apples are reboot approved, they all contain less natural sugar that other fruits.

Deviled Eggs

There are many fun ways to decorate your deviled eggs, next time I will play around with some natural dyes to dye them purple. :) The only difference with my eggs was to swap OUT the mayo and REPLACE it with greek yogurt (whole fat) still same great taste. The little football marks are from cheddar cheese and these are sprinkled with chili powder, I love my spices!

Sides

Last but not least, I decided to add some olives to snack on and a bowl of Siete chips to also use with the buffalo dip should we decide.

I know our game day apps were a hit, I hope you have fun re-creating these delicious reboot approved apps at your next party. I appreciate you checking out my page and viewing my first blog. I'd love to hear your thoughts, comment below.
